I had another adjustment this morning. That was 4 weeks since the last one. Time flies. Sat down for my usual power chain swapping, and doc came over and took a gander at everything. He said he can see my bite getting worse, which is what we're going for. Just nice that I wasn't crazy feeling the difference there the last few weeks. I am rocking a HUGE overjet/bite right now. Like, ridiculous. I can't bite in to foods, food is falling out of my mouth, and I'm having trouble speaking clearly. I am also dealing with some more headaches and stiffness/tiredness in my jaws and TMJ. My lower jaw keeps wanting to slide forward to come up and match my teeth, and that is also making my jaw sore....and also feels like my jaw pops out of alignment or kind of dislocates when I do this too. It's not sharp pain or anything, but it's uncomfortable and feels weird. I know this was all supposed to happen, and things are to get worse before they get better, but holy crap I don't know how I am going to deal with this for the next 6 months. So, I am trading one pain in the ass for another-- the gap is closing and I get rid of the hole in the front of my face finally, but now I am dealing with all the other issues associated with the worsening bite.
Anyway... all checks out well. Got my wires snipped flush again, and an even shorter power chain on this time. I went from a regular one to a short one, whatever that is. And boy, I could feel the difference with this one going on. Felt more like what I was used to at my old orthodontist. And my teeth are definitely a little more sore now too, but still within a very tolerable range and nothing like the pains of the other ortho. I am scheduled to have the upper braces put on now. June 8th, so my upper retainers days are now numbered. It will be nice not dealing with the retainer anymore, but it's going to suck being back in full braces again. I've definitely enjoyed the last 6 months of pictures without the braces on. Oh well, this just means we're getting closer. I took that opportunity to mention to my ortho that the surgeon wanted to see me around our halfway mark, and he said we're not quite there yet so hang tight. ::sigh:: I was really hoping we were around that mark, especially if the upper braces are already going on.
So, on a totally different topic, I am about to leave to go for my first post op diving trip in Mexico. I really hope that 1.) I am not terribly sore from the adjustment today. I have a feeling I'll be fine by the weekend. 2.) I hope my jaw is comfy and OK. I think I can hack it here too. 3.) I hope my front teeth don't get all goofy on me. That loose #7 is so uncomfortable to bite in to anything or unexpectedly catch something. This is what I am worried about the most. Might as well give this a go. If I can't dive, then margaritas and lots of sun tanning will be in store for me. I could use the down time. Life and work has been kind of hectic lately. Especially work. That is a whole other separate tangent in itself, but I've been kind of stressed out there for multiple reasons.

Gap/bite as of 5/18/15 -- Holy overbite, Batman!! That is seriously how far my teeth are jetting out over my lowers and it's going to get even worse in the next 6 months! (ps-- sorry for the up the nose awkward shot)
