My Brackets Days Are Numbered!!

So, I know I posted just 4 or 5 days ago after I saw my surgeon, but this deserves another post.  I GOT A DEBANDING DATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Well, not a solid date yet, but by second or (worst case) third week of Aug.  My ortho will check me on Aug 3 and make sure all is well still and then I get booked for debanding when they can get me in.  So, today was my LAST adjustment.  Hopefully ever!!  For real this time.... please, baby jebus, let this be the last adjustment for good.  I seriously could not go through all of this again.  Not even so much in an emotional sense, but the roots of my teeth literally have nothing left to give after this.  Unless I want to be in dentures, another round of ortho is NOT in my future.

My ortho's office was pretty dead today, and I was thankful for that because I got to chat him up a few extra minutes.  Just like my surgeon, he hit on the whole second opinion thing.  And just like my surgeon, he was SO relaxed over it.  "Why the long email to explain?  You know we seriously not only do not care you're getting more opinions, but we love and support that you're doing it.  Any good doctor is going to be open to that, especially with your case.  What is the worst that can happen?  You come back to me with new info or an idea and what do we do?  Make our plans even better off of new insight."  Aahhhh....and this is how I know I have good doctors now. :)  Anyway, he thought the whole thing was funny.  Same as me, kept questioning what the odds were for all of that. Ha!  So, unties me and does another little bend on the lateral incisor that he's pulling out, and then tells me we're pretty much done.  He'll check up on everything Aug 3rd and that is it.  He'll book me for debanding.  YYYYAAAAAYYYYY!!!

I'll call over to my surgeons office tomorrow and get on the books for the extractions/implants.  My calendar looks much better towards middle/end of Aug, so this should work out great.  Get the braces off mid Aug, and might allow myself to enjoy the teeth a few weeks before going and starting all the implant shinnanigans. So, maybe end of Aug for that.  Then if teeth 8 and 9 aren't feeling too great, get them done by the end of the year.  Get my deviated septum fixed by the end of the year, and upper plates/screws out by the end of the year.  Ditch my secondary insurance finally (assuming nothing else wonky happens with all the teeth/jaw/face stuff), and start 2017 off more settled out finally with all of this.  REALLY looking forward to that!

So, an updated full mouth series from my dentist.  God, it still blows my mind how quickly my roots disappeared. :(  And a quick video update to show a closer look at how tooth 7 looks.  Hopefully the next vlog will be brace free!!!!!!

Congrats! How exciting! Don't worry about the implant procedure...compared to what we've been through, it is pretty minor! The only pain I really had was from the incisions, plus my joints that they had done another arthrocentesis on at the same time!

Woo hoo! I'm so happy for you! I remember that day through my first surgery when I was told the braces were coming off...one big sigh of relief!

Yeah, I remember when I got my braces off this last time too. Wasn't really any cause for celebration since it was just a month break between treatments. How is your recovery going?? Hope still chugging along well!
